SR Technology Innovations’ VCU Featured in McCulloch’s MTS Machine at Rail Live

SR Technology Innovations (SRTI) is excited to see its Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) in action as part of the McCulloch Turnout Solution (MTS) machine which was successfully demonstrated at Rail Live this week.

The MTS, developed by McCulloch Group, represents a significant innovation in rail handling and infrastructure. Designed to lift, install and remove Switches and Crossings (S&C), a single machine can lift an impressive 25 tonnes while two machines working together can lift up to 50 tonnes. The MTS eliminates the need for cranes or large workspaces, improving efficiency and manoeuvrability. Its remote operation and tracked design allow it to access challenging areas and perform tasks with precision.

At the heart of the MTS is SRTI’s VCU and software providing the critical control required for managing the machine’s operations. The VCU ensures seamless communication between the engines, hydraulic pumps and actuators enabling the precision movement and lifting capabilities that make the MTS so versatile.

The successful demonstration of the MTS at Rail Live highlights both McCulloch Group’s reputation for innovation and the adaptability of SRTI’s control solutions in demanding industrial applications.
